Tauseef H. Farooqi is a senior power-sector and regulatory leader with 34 years of experience across technical operations, commercial management, legal matters, regulatory affairs, asset management and power-sector development.
He served as Chairman of the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for four years, concluding his tenure in August 2023. During his leadership, he contributed to several major power-sector reforms and planning initiatives, including the Indicative Generation Capacity Expansion Plan (IGCEP), Transmission System Expansion Plan (TSEP) and deregulation of the wholesale electricity market through CTBCM.
Before joining NEPRA, he contributed to Pakistan’s Kot Addu Power Plant and spent approximately two decades in Abu Dhabi, UAE, working on major power projects, including Taweelah A2, Shuweihat S1 and Taweelah B.
