Ghulam Qadir

Ghulam Qadir brings over 15 years of experience in Pakistan–China economic cooperation, trade diplomacy, investment facilitation, and policy engagement. From 2022 to 2025, he served as Trade and Investment Counsellor at the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing, where he led the Commercial Section and supported high-level economic cooperation between Pakistan and China. Ghulam Qadir brings over 15 years of experience in Pakistan–China economic cooperation, trade diplomacy, investment facilitation, and policy engagement. From 2022 to 2025, he served as Trade and Investment Counsellor at the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing, where he led the Commercial Section and supported high-level economic cooperation between Pakistan and China. 

During his tenure at the Pakistan Embassy in Beijing, Ghulam Qadir played a key role in concluding Phase II of the China–Pakistan Free Trade Agreement. He also led bilateral negotiations with China’s customs and commerce authorities, contributing to stronger trade relations and improved market access between the two countries. He currently serves as Managing Director Strategy at IBI Guolian Gufen, where he contributes to strategic planning, industrial cooperation, and cross-border economic initiatives.

Ghulam Qadir is also a PhD candidate in Economics at Peking University. His academic engagement, diplomatic experience, and professional network provide the China Desk with direct access to important policy, trade, and industrial networks across China.
